Axel's take: 7.8/10
Good budget basics and excellent food nearby, but rooms are tight. a no-frills 2-star in Singapore’s food-filled Joo Chiat neighborhood, scored for what it is.
This no-frills 2-star is a strong pick if you would rather spend on exploring Singapore than on hotel extras. Joo Chiat’s restaurants, cafés and heritage shophouses are the draw, and recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff. We’d choose it for a short, budget-conscious stay with neighborhood character rather than a downtown address.
The compromises are space and convenience: standard rooms start at just 10 square meters and, Accor confirms, have no windows. Marine Parade MRT is roughly a 15-minute walk away, although buses stop much closer. Guests also mention firm beds, occasional noise and some bathroom odors, without those outweighing the broadly positive cleanliness reports. We’d skip it if you need room to spread out, easy doorstep rail access or somewhere to lounge between outings.
