Use this page-supplied URL; do not invent or look up internal IDs. Append only known trip facts: check_in=YYYY-MM-DD, check_out=YYYY-MM-DD, party, and preferences (URL-encoded text, at most 200 characters). Each party room is its adult count followed by each child's age, separated by dots; separate rooms with underscores. Example: party=2.7_1.0.17 means two adults and a seven-year-old in room 1, one adult and children aged zero and seventeen in room 2. Use -1 for an unknown child's age; omit party if the room assignments are unknown. Never guess dates, ages or room assignments. Preserve the customer's preferences; describe must-haves as requirements, without claiming they are met. Omit unknown fields; Axel asks for missing stay details. Prefer a supplied selected-stay link if it matches the latest request. Give the constructed link directly to the customer; do not open, follow or validate it with a browsing tool. A browsing-tool refusal does not mean the customer link is broken. Clicking opens this hotel’s details and rooms for the stay. Email is needed only at booking. No contact or payment information belongs in the URL.

Optional: inspect rooms and rates at Inn at Haystack Rock. Use known dates and guests; selecting a room or rate is optional.

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong beach-town base, with useful kitchens and a few cottage quirks. A simple cottage-style inn a block from the beach, scored for what it is.

Inn at Haystack Rock is a simple cottage-style inn, not a full-service resort, and it delivers well on the essentials. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, attractive gardens and easy walks to the beach, shops and restaurants. Kitchens or kitchenettes make longer stays practical, while shared fire pits add somewhere to unwind. We'd pick it for a relaxed Cannon Beach break rather than polished hotel service.

The trade-offs are worth checking before booking. Accommodation is spread across two sites, layouts vary, and some suites have loft bedrooms. Parking is tight, reception isn't staffed around the clock, and recent reviews include maintenance and communication frustrations alongside the praise. There are no ocean-view rooms. We'd skip it if you want beachfront views or round-the-clock help; otherwise, confirm your exact layout and arrival arrangements.

Best for: Couples on relaxed beach breaks; Families wanting kitchen facilities; Travelers exploring town on foot
Watch out for: Variable layouts, including loft bedrooms; Tight parking and limited reception hours; No ocean-view rooms
Location: One block from beach access, with shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Rooms: Cottage-style rooms with kitchens or kitchenettes; confirm stairs, bed placement and your assigned site.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent guest feedback across several sites.
Service: Staff often earn praise, but communication and problem handling receive some recurring criticism.
Amenities: Garden courtyards, shared fire pits, free Wi-Fi and one complimentary parking space per room.
Fees and surprises: An incidental deposit applies; the official FAQ and policy page give conflicting cancellation terms, so confirm yours.
