Axel's take: 7.3/10
Practical, stylish apartments, but recurring cooling problems weaken an otherwise appealing Cambridge base. A design-led 4-star aparthotel in Cambridge’s outer Eddington neighbourhood, scored for what it is.
Turing Locke is a design-led 4-star aparthotel in Eddington, about two miles from Cambridge’s historic centre. It’s a good fit for travelers who want a kitchen and living space rather than a conventional hotel room. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise comfortable apartments, helpful reception staff and generally good cleanliness. Nearby groceries and bus links make self-catering stays practical, while the courtyard, coworking space and small gym add useful extras.
The catch is reliability: multiple Tripadvisor guests reported ineffective air-conditioning through summer 2026, alongside uneven maintenance responses; some also describe bathroom smells and cleaning lapses. That recurring cooling problem stops us recommending it unreservedly. Parking costs extra and spaces aren’t guaranteed. We’d skip it for a warm-weather stay where dependable cooling matters, or a sightseeing trip built around walking everywhere.
