Axel's take: 8.1/10

Generous suites and mall convenience, but check nearby construction before committing. An upscale all-suite business hotel attached to Chipichape mall, scored for what it is.

Spiwak Chipichape is an upscale all-suite hotel in northern Cali, marketed as five-star rather than the catalog’s four. It’s a strong pick for travelers who prioritize space and convenience: the mall connects directly to the lobby, and Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the roomy accommodation, cleanliness and helpful staff. Breakfast is another consistent strength. We’d choose it for a practical business stay rather than a secluded luxury escape.

The main reservation is disruption. An August 2026 Tripadvisor guest documented noisy high-rise construction next door and earthquake-related repairs at the adjoining mall, alongside concerns about damaged glass and exit stairs; completion could not be verified. Ask specifically about these before booking. Downtown also requires transport. We’d skip it for a quiet retreat, or until repair status is clarified if traveling with someone who needs easy evacuation access.

• Best for: Business travelers in northern Cali; Travelers wanting spacious suites; Shopping and dining convenience

• Watch out for: Nearby construction reported in August 2026; Repair and evacuation-route concerns need clarification; Not walkable to downtown

• Location: Direct Chipichape mall access makes shopping and meals easy; downtown requires transport.

• Rooms: Generously sized suites with sitting areas; comfort earns broad praise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across major booking and review sites.

• Service: Usually praised as friendly and helpful, though problem handling draws some criticism.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, La Zarzuela restaurant and a well-liked buffet breakfast.

• Fees and surprises: Parking, pets and airport transfers carry charges; confirm breakfast inclusion, deposit requirements and repair status.
