Axel's take: 8.4/10

Spacious rooms and shopping convenience make Spirito a strong north-Cali base. a modern upper-midrange business hotel beside Chipichape mall, scored for what it is.

Spirito is a modern upper-midrange business hotel across from Chipichape mall, and we'd choose it for generous room sizes and everyday convenience rather than luxury polish. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds, helpful staff and a varied breakfast. The rooftop pool adds somewhere to unwind, while nearby shops and restaurants make meals and errands easy.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: Tripadvisor and Expedia guests mention worn blackout curtains, and some report uneven follow-through on requests, although service feedback is predominantly positive. Guests report using the gym at the sister Spiwak across the street rather than inside Spirito. Check whether breakfast is included; parking and pets carry extra charges. It's a strong pick for business trips and shopping-focused stays, less compelling if your priority is exploring central Cali on foot.

• Best for: business travelers in north Cali; shopping-focused stays; travelers wanting spacious rooms

• Watch out for: some worn blackout curtains; gym at the sister hotel; breakfast inclusion and extra charges

• Location: Across from Chipichape mall, convenient for dining and shopping rather than central sightseeing.

• Rooms: Spacious, contemporary rooms with effective air-conditioning; some guests flag tired blackout curtains.

• Cleanliness: Consistently positive recent feedback across Tripadvisor and Expedia.

• Service: Mostly warm and helpful, with occasional missed requests or uneven reception experiences.

• Amenities: Rooftop pool, buffet breakfast and event facilities; guests use the sister hotel's gym.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast depends on the booking; parking, pets and airport transfers cost extra.
