Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong north-Cali base for clean, spacious rooms, with a few service inconsistencies. A practical mid-range hotel near Chipichape shopping mall, scored for what it is.

Estancia Chipichape is a practical mid-range hotel in north Cali, and we'd pick it for a work trip or a straightforward shopping-and-dining stay. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness, comfortable rooms and convenient location near Chipichape mall. Breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi are included, making this a well-rounded option if you value useful basics over boutique character.

The compromises are mostly consistency rather than comfort. Recent guests repeatedly mention limited breakfast variety, while reception gets both warm praise and complaints about inflexible problem handling. A few report noisy air-conditioning or elevator noise, so light sleepers should request a room away from the lift. We'd skip it for a pampering break; the gym and hot tub are extras to confirm, not reasons to book.

• Best for: Business travelers in north Cali; Shopping and dining near Chipichape; Travelers prioritizing clean, spacious rooms

• Watch out for: Repetitive breakfast on longer stays; Uneven reception service; Occasional air-conditioning or elevator noise

• Location: Convenient for Chipichape mall and nearby restaurants rather than a historic-center stay.

• Rooms: Spacious, air-conditioned and generally comfortable; some guests flag equipment noise and maintenance needs.

• Cleanliness: One of its strongest signals, with consistently high cleanliness ratings across Booking.com and Expedia.

• Service: Restaurant staff earn frequent praise; reception and problem handling are less consistent.

• Amenities: Restaurant, included breakfast, Wi-Fi, gym and hot tub; confirm wellness-facility hours and availability.

• Fees and surprises: Free parking is limited and should be reserved; confirm late-arrival arrangements directly.
