Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong downtown pick for spacious suites, welcoming staff and riverfront walks. a comfortable 4-star all-suite hotel beside Calgary’s riverfront parks, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire is a 4-star all-suite hotel that gets the important things right: space, comfortable beds and a downtown location beside Prince’s Island Park. We'd pick it especially for families or anyone who wants a separate living area rather than a standard hotel room. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and helpful staff. The indoor pool, two-story waterslide and hot tub give families another good reason to choose it.

The trade-off is polish: some recent guests find the furnishings and carpets dated, despite generally strong upkeep. Parking costs extra, and nearby plaza festivals can bring audible music into rooms. We'd skip it if you want fresh contemporary design or guaranteed quiet during events; for practical comfort and easy riverfront walks, it's a very good choice.

• Best for: families wanting separate living space; downtown business travelers; couples who enjoy riverfront walks

• Watch out for: some dated furnishings and carpets; paid parking; plaza festival noise

• Location: Beside Prince’s Island Park and Bow River paths, with downtown offices and restaurants within walking distance.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with separate living areas, comfortable beds and microwaves; some furnishings show their age.

• Cleanliness: Consistently strong guest feedback for clean rooms and good housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a repeated strength across recent reviews.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, two-story waterslide, hot tub, gym and Flower & Wolf restaurant; club access requires eligibility.

• Fees and surprises: Valet and nearby self-parking cost extra; breakfast inclusion depends on booking, pets incur a fee, and there is no airport shuttle.
