Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical central base with friendly staff, compact rooms and a basic breakfast. a simple 3-star city hotel in central Monserrat, scored for what it is.

Two Hotel Buenos Aires is a simple 3-star in Monserrat, and we'd pick it for a short sightseeing stay rather than hotel downtime. Its central location puts historic sights and subway connections within easy reach. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness and helpful staff, while recent Tripadvisor reviews also highlight comfortable beds. It's a good-value base if you'll spend most of your day exploring.

The compromises are space and breakfast. Rooms are compact, and several guests mention limited luggage storage. Continental breakfast divides opinion: expect breads, pastries and cold items rather than a substantial hot buffet; guests on Booking.com and Tripadvisor mention eggs costing extra. Check whether breakfast is included, and budget for paid parking if driving. We'd skip it for a longer stay with bulky luggage or if a generous breakfast matters.

• Best for: value-minded sightseeing trips; short stays with light luggage; travelers using the subway

• Watch out for: compact rooms and limited storage; basic continental breakfast; eggs cost extra; paid parking

• Location: Central Monserrat, close to Café Tortoni, historic sights and Belgrano and Moreno subway stations.

• Rooms: Simple, air-conditioned rooms; the hotel lists sizes starting at 16 square meters and hairdryers on request.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia, despite occasional complaints about worn finishes.

• Service: Helpful, friendly reception staff earn repeated praise across the major review sites.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, 24-hour reception, work computers and on-site parking.

• Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking, and guests report an extra charge for eggs.
