Axel's take: 8.4/10

Savoy delivers historic character and helpful service, with some uneven rooms. a historic 4-star near Congress in downtown Buenos Aires, scored for what it is.

Savoy is a historic 4-star near Congress, and a strong pick for travelers who prefer ornate public spaces to contemporary hotel design. Its grand staircase and elaborate bar give it real character, while the location puts Corrientes theaters and metro connections close by. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. We'd choose it for a central sightseeing stay with an old-fashioned sense of occasion.

The bedrooms don't always match the lobby's polish: recent Tripadvisor and Trip.com reviews describe some tired interiors and uneven room standards. Traffic and neighboring-room noise also recur, so request a rear-facing room if sleep matters most. Breakfast earns plenty of praise but isn't consistently impressive. We'd skip it if you want uniformly modern rooms or dependable soundproofing.

• Best for: travelers who enjoy historic hotels; downtown sightseeing; theatergoers using Corrientes and the metro

• Watch out for: traffic and neighboring-room noise; uneven bedroom condition; mixed breakfast feedback

• Location: Near Congress, Corrientes theaters and two metro stations; practical for exploring downtown.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and often generous space, but condition, outlook and sound insulation vary.

• Cleanliness: Predominantly strong recent feedback across Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are one of the most consistent strengths across review sites.

• Amenities: Restaurant, ornate bar, free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gym; no onsite parking.

• Fees and surprises: City tax and early or late checkout charges may apply; guests report bottled minibar water is chargeable.
