Axel's take: 8.1/10

A friendly San Telmo base, best for short stays rather than spacious comfort. A small, straightforward 3-star boutique hotel in San Telmo, scored for what it is.

Ribera Sur is a straightforward, 16-room boutique hotel in San Telmo, and a strong pick for travelers who prioritize neighborhood exploring over hotel luxuries. Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, convenient location and generally clean rooms. Breakfast also earns good feedback, though the hotel sells stays both with and without it. We'd choose it for a few nights near San Telmo's markets and restaurants.

The main compromise is room size: several guests describe compact quarters, so don't expect much spreading-out space. Room-condition feedback is less consistent than the service praise, although it doesn't establish a widespread cleanliness problem. Booking.com lists the outdoor pool as closed through October 31, 2026. We'd skip it if spacious rooms or a guaranteed swim are central to the trip.

• Best for: Couples exploring San Telmo; Short city stays; Travelers who value helpful staff

• Watch out for: Compact rooms; Pool closed through October 31, 2026; Breakfast not included in every booking

• Location: Convenient for San Telmo's market and restaurants; the subway is a longer walk.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds draw praise, but small rooms recur in recent Tripadvisor and Expedia feedback.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive across sites; an October 2026 Expedia complaint is a counterexample, not an established pattern.

• Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are the clearest recurring strength across review sites.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, breakfast options and a seasonal outdoor pool; Booking.com lists closure through October 31, 2026.

• Fees and surprises: Confirm breakfast inclusion; Booking.com lists a refundable cash damage deposit, and Expedia lists no on-site parking.
