Axel's take: 9.3/10

Warm service and spotless rooms make this a standout Recoleta base. a modern five-star city hotel in Recoleta, scored for what it is.

Palladio is a modern five-star city hotel in Recoleta, and a strong pick if attentive service matters more than palace-style grandeur. Recent Tripadvisor and Hotels.com guests repeatedly praise the genuinely helpful staff, spotless rooms and comfortable beds; Booking.com’s exceptionally strong cleanliness and comfort ratings reinforce that picture. Breakfast and Negresco Bistro also earn consistent praise. We’d choose it for a comfortable, well-run sightseeing base with useful spa and fitness facilities.

The trade-offs are fairly modest: the rooftop pool is small, and avenue-facing rooms can pick up traffic noise, so light sleepers should request a rear-facing room. Entry-level Superior rooms are notably smaller than the balcony categories; check which you’re booking. We’d skip it if a substantial swimming pool or historic interiors are central to your idea of five-star luxury.

• Best for: couples exploring Buenos Aires; travelers who prioritize attentive service; city breaks with spa downtime

• Watch out for: traffic noise in avenue-facing rooms; small rooftop pool; smaller entry-level rooms without balconies

• Location: Walkable Recoleta base on Avenida Callao, with restaurants and subway access nearby.

• Rooms: Modern and comfortable; Superior rooms are 25 m², while Deluxe rooms offer 35 m² and balconies.

• Cleanliness: A standout strength across guest ratings and recent reviews.

• Service: Repeated praise for warm, professional staff and helpful concierge arrangements.

• Amenities: Heated rooftop outdoor pool, spa, sauna, gym, Negresco Bistro and bar; pool space is limited.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast is not included in every booking; valet parking and airport transfers cost extra.
