Axel's take: 7.9/10

A strong theater-district base, with room upkeep less consistent than the location. a central 4-star chain hotel in Buenos Aires’ theater district, scored for what it is.

Novotel Buenos Aires is a central 4-star chain hotel whose strongest asset is its Corrientes Avenue address. We’d pick it for theater nights and sightseeing: restaurants surround it, and the Obelisk is a short walk away. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the location, while cleanliness and helpful staff earn plenty of positive mentions. It’s a comfortable city base rather than a particularly polished four-star experience.

The compromises are aging room finishes, occasional bathroom maintenance problems and uneven service. Light sleepers should request a rear-facing room. Pool plans need checking: Accor lists an outdoor season from October 10 through March, but a September 2026 Tripadvisor guest reported pool renovations and a closed sauna; reopening wasn’t independently confirmed. We’d skip it for a quiet retreat or a stay built around wellness facilities.

• Best for: theatergoers and late-night diners; first-time Buenos Aires sightseers; short central business stays

• Watch out for: street noise on Corrientes; dated finishes and bathroom maintenance; confirm pool and sauna availability

• Location: Excellent for Corrientes theaters, restaurants and walking to the Obelisk.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, but recent reports flag worn finishes and bathroom faults.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised across sources; maintenance is the more consistent concern.

• Service: Often friendly and accommodating, though problem handling gets mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Restaurant, gym and seasonal outdoor pool; recent pool and sauna closure report needs checking.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets cost extra; Accor also lists a gym charge, and breakfast depends on the booking.
