#3 of 9 hotels in Recoleta by Axel's take. Recoleta is #3 of 9 places to stay in Buenos Aires. The best hotels in Recoleta, ranked · Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Axel's take: 8.9/10

Spacious rooms and personal service make this a strong Recoleta choice, with renovation caveats. An upscale boutique hotel in Recoleta, scored for what it is.

Mio is an upscale boutique hotel in Recoleta, and we'd pick it for generous rooms and attentive service rather than grand-hotel spectacle. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff. The distinctive wooden bathtubs give the rooms character, while breakfast earns strong feedback for its variety. It's a particularly good fit for couples exploring Recoleta's museums, cafés and cemetery on foot.

The important caveat is room renovation: Clarín reports floor-by-floor work beginning in May 2026; confirm the current schedule and request a finished room away from work. The indoor pool is better for a dip than serious swimming, and the intimate public spaces won't suit anyone seeking a lively hotel scene. We'd skip it if construction uncertainty is a dealbreaker.

  • Best for: Couples seeking a boutique stay; Recoleta sightseeing on foot; Travelers who prioritize personal service

  • Watch out for: Confirm ongoing room-renovation schedule; Small indoor pool; Low-key bar atmosphere

  • Location: Walkable Recoleta setting near the cemetery, museums, cafés and restaurants.

  • Rooms: Spacious, comfortable rooms with distinctive wooden tubs; layouts and features vary by category.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent guest feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are among the most consistently praised features.

  • Amenities: Heated indoor pool, steam sauna, treatment rooms and fitness equipment; breakfast includes cooked-to-order dishes.

  • Fees and surprises: Room renovations reported since May 2026; confirm disruption. No on-site parking, and airport transfers cost extra.
