Axel's take: 7.7/10

A good sightseeing base with generous rooms, but uneven four-star polish. a traditional 4-star city hotel near Plaza de Mayo, scored for what it is.

Kenton Palace is a traditional 4-star city hotel near Plaza de Mayo, best chosen for sightseeing rather than its spa. We'd pick it for the generous rooms and easy access to the historic center and San Telmo's Sunday market. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise room size, cleanliness and helpful staff, though the welcome is not universally consistent.

The trade-off is an aging property with uneven maintenance and breakfast reviews. The hotel explicitly charges extra for its spa area, including the indoor pool. A January 2026 Tripadvisor guest reported a nonworking sauna, empty hot tub and faulty gym equipment; others enjoyed the pool. Guests also reported the advertised restaurant and bar unavailable during their stays. Confirm facilities before booking, and skip it if a dependable spa or polished four-star experience is essential.

• Best for: first-time Buenos Aires sightseers; families wanting larger rooms; travelers prioritizing location over facilities

• Watch out for: extra-charge spa and pool access; dated interiors and uneven maintenance; confirm restaurant and wellness facilities

• Location: Walkable to Plaza de Mayo and historic sights, with the Sunday street market nearby.

• Rooms: Spacious, comfortable rooms and large bathrooms are strengths; fittings can feel dated.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised across sources, although a recent Expedia guest reported dust and bathroom problems.

• Service: Often friendly and helpful, but some guests describe indifferent service or poor problem handling.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi and buffet breakfast; reports conflict on dining availability and wellness-facility condition.

• Fees and surprises: The official site lists spa and parking surcharges; guests also flag steps up to the lobby.
