Axel's take: 8.2/10

A characterful Palermo base with excellent staff, but room maintenance can be uneven. a vintage-style 4-star boutique hotel in Palermo Hollywood, scored for what it is.

Hotel Clásico is a small, vintage-style 4-star boutique in Palermo Hollywood, and we'd choose it for neighborhood character rather than polished luxury. Restored furniture, marble and stained glass give it personality, while nearby restaurants make evenings easy. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming, helpful staff; recent feedback is also broadly positive about cleanliness and comfortable beds. It's a strong pick for couples who spend their days exploring.

The trade-off is inconsistent upkeep: recent guests describe air-conditioning faults and unfinished bathroom repairs, alongside many trouble-free stays. Room sizes vary, and breakfast earns both enthusiastic praise and complaints about limited, pastry-heavy choices. We'd skip it if immaculate finishes and dependable four-star polish matter more than location and personal service. Check whether breakfast is included; the advertised gym access is off-site.

• Best for: couples exploring Buenos Aires; restaurant-focused Palermo stays; travelers who prefer boutique character

• Watch out for: uneven room maintenance; some compact rooms and bathrooms; gym is off-site

• Location: Palermo Hollywood restaurants nearby, with Palermo Soho within walking distance.

• Rooms: Distinctive vintage decor and comfortable beds; sizes and maintenance standards vary.

• Cleanliness: Generally well reviewed, though isolated damp and air-conditioning cleanliness complaints warrant checking the room.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength across recent reviews.

• Amenities: Restaurant, breakfast, free Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception; complimentary gym access is nearby, not on-site.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; no hotel parking, and early check-in or late checkout can cost extra.
