#9 of 9 hotels in Lipótváros & Parliament by Axel's take. Lipótváros & Parliament is #1 of 8 places to stay in Budapest. The best hotels in Lipótváros & Parliament, ranked · Where to stay in Budapest

Axel's take: 7.5/10

A practical sightseeing base, stronger on location than four-star polish. a straightforward 4-star city hotel near Nyugati station, scored for what it is.

Marmara is a straightforward 4-star city hotel near Nyugati station, best treated as a practical base rather than a place to linger. We'd pick it for easy metro and tram connections and walks to Parliament and the Danube. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests regularly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms, making it a solid choice for a short city break.

The trade-off is uneven four-star polish: rooms can be compact, furnishings show wear, and recent guests report maintenance niggles. Weak air-conditioning recurs across Expedia and Tripadvisor, with management acknowledging reduced cooling during extreme heat. Breakfast satisfies many guests but draws complaints about variety and replenishment. Expect a refundable damage deposit, and reserve paid parking ahead. We'd skip it if dependable summer cooling or consistently polished rooms are priorities.

Best for: short sightseeing breaks; travelers using Nyugati station; couples prioritizing location
Watch out for: weak cooling during hot weather; compact rooms and uneven maintenance; refundable damage deposit at check-in
Location: Convenient for Nyugati's transport links, with Parliament and the Danube within walking distance.
Rooms: Comfortable beds, but some rooms are compact; dated furnishings and maintenance issues recur.
Cleanliness: Generally praised, though recent reviews show occasional housekeeping lapses.
Service: Mostly friendly and helpful; reception attitude and follow-through are not entirely consistent.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, buffet breakfast and a lobby bar; ordinary individual half-board dinners are served across the street.
Fees and surprises: Refundable damage deposit; parking costs extra, requires advance reservation and uses a size-limited car lift.
