#7 of 9 hotels in Lipótváros & Parliament by Axel's take. Lipótváros & Parliament is #1 of 8 places to stay in Budapest. The best hotels in Lipótváros & Parliament, ranked · Where to stay in Budapest

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong sightseeing base, with friendly staff and rooms that could use updating. a traditional 4-star city hotel beside Budapest’s Opera House, scored for what it is.

K+K Hotel Opera is a traditional 4-star city hotel whose biggest strength is its setting: beside the Opera House, close to the metro and an easy walk from central Pest’s sights. It’s a strong pick for travelers who prioritize convenience over fashionable interiors. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful reception staff, comfortable rooms and breakfast, while Booking.com’s overall feedback is solidly positive.

The trade-off is uneven polish. Recent Expedia guests mention tired decor and stained upholstery, alongside many reports of clean, comfortable stays; this feels more like an updating issue than a reason to rule it out. Breakfast service also gets occasional criticism. We’d choose it for a practical city break, but skip it if fresh design and consistently polished four-star presentation matter most.

Best for: first-time Budapest sightseers; opera and theater visitors; travelers prioritizing walkability
Watch out for: some tired decor and upholstery; occasional breakfast-service inconsistencies; paid parking with limited spaces
Location: Excellent central Pest base beside the Opera House, with metro access nearby.
Rooms: Generally comfortable, but recent guests flag decor needing an update.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive across Booking.com and Expedia, with occasional housekeeping and upholstery complaints.
Service: Reception earns repeated praise; breakfast service is less consistent.
Amenities: Bistro/bar, free Wi-Fi, gym and sauna; the hotel confirms complimentary wellness-area access.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; garage parking is charged and first-come, first-served; local tax applies.
