#7 of 8 hotels in City Park & Heroes' Square by Axel's take. City Park & Heroes' Square is #8 of 8 places to stay in Budapest. The best hotels in City Park & Heroes' Square, ranked · Where to stay in Budapest

Axel's take: 7.8/10

Good value near City Park, but choosing the right room matters. a practical 3-star hotel and conference venue near City Park, scored for what it is.

Hotel Benczur is a practical 3-star hotel and conference venue in Budapest’s leafy embassy quarter. It’s a good-value base for Heroes’ Square, City Park and the thermal baths, with the M1 metro nearby for trips downtown. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise the location, breakfast and comfortable rooms. The restaurant and garden terrace add convenience without turning this into a resort-style stay.

The catch is the room category. The hotel says Standard rooms were fully renovated in 2025 and Superior rooms are also refurbished; Economy is its simplest option. Recent Tripadvisor reviews remain sharply divided, with repeated complaints about worn rooms, cleaning lapses and uneven service alongside enthusiastic recommendations. We’d choose a renovated Standard or Superior rather than book solely on price. Skip it if you want consistently polished service or nightlife outside the door.

  • Best for: value-minded city-break travelers; City Park and thermal-bath visitors; travelers who prefer a quieter neighborhood

  • Watch out for: significant differences between room categories; uneven housekeeping and service reports; metro ride to the downtown nightlife

  • Location: Leafy embassy-quarter setting near Heroes’ Square, City Park and the M1 metro.

  • Rooms: Standard rooms renovated in 2025; Superior also refurbished, while Economy is the basic option.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall Booking.com feedback, but recent Tripadvisor guests repeatedly flag cleaning lapses.

  • Service: Many guests praise helpful reception staff; others report indifferent attitudes and slow communication.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, bar, garden terrace, buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi and on-site parking.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking, airport transfers and pets cost extra; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.
