#3 of 5 hotels in Ferencváros & Ráday Street by Axel's take. Ferencváros & Ráday Street is #6 of 8 places to stay in Budapest. The best hotels in Ferencváros & Ráday Street, ranked · Where to stay in Budapest

Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong pick for apartment space and helpful staff, rather than full-service polish. a practical 4-star apartment hotel near Corvin Promenade, scored for what it is.

Escala is a practical 4-star apartment hotel near Corvin Promenade, and we'd shortlist it for families or longer stays. Its spacious studios and suites have proper kitchens, with laundry facilities in most larger categories. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful reception team, comfortable accommodation and nearby restaurants and shopping. Metro and tram connections make sightseeing straightforward, even though the main tourist core isn't on the doorstep.

The compromise is hotel polish: recent reviews mention tired furnishings in some units, limited communal space and waits for the single lift. Cleanliness is generally well rated, though some recent guests flag housekeeping details. Breakfast earns mostly positive feedback, but the small room divides opinion. A July 2026 guest also reported nearby construction; check its status before booking. We'd skip it for a polished, facilities-led city break.

  • Best for: families needing separate bedrooms; longer stays with self-catering; travelers prioritizing space over hotel facilities

  • Watch out for: variable room condition and housekeeping details; single-lift waits and small breakfast room; nearby construction reported in July 2026; confirm status

  • Location: Near Corvin's shops and restaurants, with metro and tram access; outside the main sightseeing core.

  • Rooms: Generously sized, kitchen-equipped apartments; furnishings vary, and not every balcony accommodates seating.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, tempered by some recent complaints about towels and cleaning detail.

  • Service: Helpful, welcoming reception staff are a consistent strength across review sites.

  • Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi and kitchens; most larger suites have laundry facilities, while pool and gym access is off-site and paid.

  • Fees and surprises: Garage parking, pets and some breakfast arrangements cost extra; confirm nearby construction before arrival.
