Axel's take: 8.6/10
A strong luxury-family pick, but choose your building carefully and check renovation dates. a sprawling luxury resort and private club with five distinct hotels, scored for what it is.
The Boca Raton is a sprawling luxury resort and private club, not a single beachfront hotel. It's a strong pick for families who will use the pools, waterslides, lazy river and private beach rather than spend their days exploring. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the attentive staff, clean accommodations and extensive facilities. The historic architecture adds character, while your choice of building materially shapes the stay.
Harborside guests reach the beach by water taxi or shuttle; book Beach Club if immediate sand access matters. Busy school breaks can mean crowds and slower dining, so we'd skip it for guaranteed quiet. There are separate resort and valet-parking charges. Most importantly, the golf course and practice areas are closed for renovation, with the hotel projecting a late-fall 2026 reopening. Cloister advertises redesigned rooms for fall 2026; confirm your room's status before booking.
