Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong comfort-first base, especially for Tempodrom visits, rather than doorstep Potsdamer Platz. A renovated upscale 4-star in a historic postal building near the Tempodrom, scored for what it is.

The Posthouse is an upscale 4-star in a former postal building, and we'd pick it for comfortable rooms and reliably warm service. Leonardo says the former Crowne Plaza reopened under its new identity in September 2025 after extensive renovations. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds, helpful staff and breakfast. It's particularly handy for the Tempodrom, with Anhalter Bahnhof transport nearby.

The main compromise is location: Potsdamer Platz is roughly a 15-minute walk away, not outside the door. Breakfast costs extra unless included, and the hotel lists a sauna surcharge and limited afternoon hours. An August 2026 Tripadvisor guest also reported the sauna closed for technical reasons; check its status before booking specifically for wellness. We'd skip it if immediate Potsdamer Platz access or a dependable spa is your priority.

• Best for: Tempodrom concertgoers; Couples on sightseeing breaks; Business travelers

• Watch out for: Potsdamer Platz is a walk away; Sauna surcharge, restricted hours and a reported closure; Breakfast may cost extra

• Location: Near the Tempodrom and Anhalter Bahnhof; allow roughly 15 minutes on foot to Potsdamer Platz.

• Rooms: Renovated interiors, comfortable beds and often generous bathrooms; room layouts and usable space vary.

• Cleanliness: Strong ratings across booking sites; isolated housekeeping lapses do not outweigh the positive pattern.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across recent guest reviews.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, gym, sauna and steam bath; confirm wellness availability before relying on it.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast depends on your booking; sauna carries a surcharge, and parking is off-site or public.
