Axel's take: 8.0/10

A good-value Berlin base, with excellent transport links but uneven bathroom upkeep. a no-frills chain hotel in central Berlin-Mitte, scored for what it is.

This no-frills Premier Inn, formerly a Best Western, is a strong pick for exploring Berlin without paying for unnecessary extras. Spittelmarkt’s U2 station is close by, and guests on Expedia and HolidayCheck repeatedly praise comfortable beds, helpful staff and the convenient location. The overall picture is reassuring: Booking.com rates it 8.2, while recent guests describe a practical, generally clean base rather than somewhere to linger.

The main reservation is bathroom consistency: several reviews mention tired showers, dirty grout or drain smells, although others praise their bathrooms. A Tripadvisor guest reported annex refurbishment during a June 2026 stay; completion could not be confirmed, so check before booking if daytime quiet matters. We’d choose it for a sightseeing break, but skip it if spotless finishes and polished public spaces are priorities.

• Best for: value-minded city-break travelers; sightseers using public transport; practical business stays

• Watch out for: uneven bathroom upkeep; annex refurbishment reported in June 2026; paid parking cannot be reserved

• Location: Central Mitte setting near Spittelmarkt’s U2 station, with cafés and sightseeing within walking reach.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and air conditioning; some guests find showers and finishes dated.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive feedback, but bathroom cleaning and maintenance draw repeated exceptions.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across recent guest reviews.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, breakfast buffet and a bar; a practical rather than full-service setup.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and parking cost extra; parking is unreservable, and June 2026 annex works have no verified completion date.
