#3 of 9 hotels in Friedrichshain by Axel's take. Friedrichshain is #8 of 12 places to stay in Berlin. The best hotels in Friedrichshain, ranked · Where to stay in Berlin

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong riverside pick for concerts and nightlife, less suited to quiet retreats. a music-themed 4-star design hotel on the Spree, scored for what it is.

nhow Berlin is a music-themed 4-star on the Spree, and we'd pick it for a concert weekend or exploring Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. Its pink, futuristic interiors have personality, but the fundamentals also hold up: Booking.com and Expedia guests praise comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff, while Tripadvisor reviewers repeatedly highlight breakfast. The riverside terrace and walkable access to the East Side Gallery and Uber Arena are genuine strengths.

The main trade-off is the atmosphere: several Tripadvisor guests report evening music or event noise reaching rooms. We'd request a quiet room away from event spaces, particularly on weekends. The bold decor won't suit everyone, and breakfast and parking can add to the bill. It's a very good fit for sociable city breaks; we'd skip it for a hushed, understated stay.

  • Best for: concertgoers visiting Uber Arena; nightlife-focused city breaks; travelers who enjoy bold design

  • Watch out for: evening music and event noise; strong pink, futuristic decor; breakfast and parking cost extra

  • Location: Riverside Friedrichshain base, walkable to East Side Gallery, Uber Arena and public transport.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and distinctive interiors; river views depend on category, and event noise can reach rooms.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness ratings; isolated bathroom-detail complaints do not define the wider feedback.

  • Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor.

  • Amenities: Riverside terrace, 24-hour gym, saunas, steam bath and complimentary guitar delivery to rooms.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast, parking and pets carry extra charges; on-site parking cannot be reserved in advance.
