Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong short-stay base with friendly staff, easy trains and compact rooms. a design-led, limited-service 3-star near Ostbahnhof, scored for what it is.

Moxy Berlin Ostbahnhof is a design-led, limited-service 3-star that gets the short city break right. It's a strong pick for travelers who want easy train connections and access to East Berlin's nightlife rather than extensive hotel facilities. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and welcoming staff, while the bar-and-lounge lobby gives you somewhere to relax beyond the bedroom. Ostbahnhof is roughly five minutes away on foot.

The compromise is space: standard rooms are compact, and limited clothes storage is a recurring complaint. Management confirms that most rooms lack full wardrobes, though mobile clothes racks are available on request. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking. An Expedia guest reported construction in June 2026; its current status is unconfirmed, so check before booking. We'd skip it for a longer stay requiring generous storage or a traditional full-service experience.

• Best for: short city breaks; nightlife-focused travelers; travelers arriving by train

• Watch out for: compact standard rooms and limited storage; breakfast may cost extra; construction reported in June 2026; current status unconfirmed

• Location: A short walk from Ostbahnhof, with convenient access to Holzmarkt and the East Side Gallery.

• Rooms: Compact and functional; most lack full wardrobes, but management offers mobile clothes racks.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive repeated praise across review sites.

• Amenities: Social lobby, bar, round-the-clock snacks and Wi-Fi; the emphasis is on shared space rather than extensive facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets incur charges; breakfast is not automatically included. Confirm whether reported construction has finished.
