#7 of 9 hotels in Neukölln by Axel's take. Neukölln is #11 of 12 places to stay in Berlin. The best hotels in Neukölln, ranked · Where to stay in Berlin

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A good-value Neukölln base, provided you can live without air-conditioning. a no-frills budget hotel in Neukölln, scored for what it is.

Motel Plus Berlin is a no-frills budget hotel in Neukölln, best treated as a practical sleeping base rather than somewhere to linger. It's a good pick for travelers who prioritize cleanliness and transport links over extras. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff, while nearby S-Bahn and U-Bahn connections make the noncentral location workable. The lobby bar and optional breakfast add convenience without changing the basic proposition.

The biggest drawback is summer comfort: several recent Expedia guests report uncomfortably hot rooms without air-conditioning. Furnishings are sparse, and guests mention missing conveniences such as kettles and proper chairs. Breakfast and garage parking cost extra. We'd skip it for a heatwave stay or if walking straight to Berlin's main sights matters more than value.

  • Best for: budget-conscious city explorers; travelers visiting Neukölln; short stays using public transport

  • Watch out for: no room air-conditioning; sparse furnishings and limited in-room extras; noncentral location

  • Location: Neukölln base near S-Bahn and U-Bahn connections; expect transit trips to the main sights.

  • Rooms: Simple private-bathroom rooms; limited furnishings and no air-conditioning.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring positive in recent guest reviews.

  • Amenities: Lobby bar, round-the-clock snacks, optional buffet breakfast and Wi-Fi; accessible rooms are limited.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast and underground parking cost extra; early check-in carries a surcharge when available.
