#9 of 9 hotels in Kreuzberg by Axel's take. Kreuzberg is #7 of 12 places to stay in Berlin. The best hotels in Kreuzberg, ranked · Where to stay in Berlin

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical sightseeing base, with small rooms and few extras. a no-frills budget hotel near Anhalter Bahnhof, scored for what it is.

This no-frills budget hotel is a good pick if you want to spend your time exploring Berlin rather than hanging around the hotel. Anhalter Bahnhof is a short walk away, with Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie also reachable on foot. Recent Expedia and Accor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and the convenient location. We'd choose it for a short, uncomplicated city break.

The compromises are mostly familiar budget-hotel ones: compact rooms, limited luggage storage and a shower layout that offers little privacy when sharing. Air conditioning is advertised, but several recent guests report ineffective cooling or ventilation. Breakfast is basic and costs extra, as does parking. We'd skip it for a longer stay with lots of luggage, or if generous space and dependable summer cooling matter more than location.

Best for: budget-conscious sightseers; solo travelers on short breaks; couples traveling light
Watch out for: compact rooms and limited storage; limited shower privacy; recurring cooling complaints
Location: Near Anhalter Bahnhof, around ten minutes on foot from Potsdamer Platz.
Rooms: Small and functional; storage and shower privacy are the main compromises.
Cleanliness: Generally a strength in recent reviews, rather than a recurring concern.
Service: Mostly friendly and helpful, though some guests report uneven problem handling.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, breakfast buffet and paid parking; few frills.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast, parking and pets carry extra charges; advertised cooling receives repeated complaints.
