Comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast make this big hotel a dependable Berlin base. a large, contemporary 4-star conference hotel near Tiergarten, scored for what it is.

Hotel Berlin, Berlin is a large, contemporary 4-star conference hotel near Tiergarten, and a strong pick for comfortable city stays without luxury expectations. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and the generous breakfast buffet. The restaurant, bar, gym and sauna give it useful substance beyond somewhere to sleep, while nearby buses and walkable U-Bahn stations make exploring straightforward.

The trade-off is scale rather than a lack of facilities. Recent Tripadvisor guests describe long corridors, busy breakfast rooms and kiosk check-in that can feel frustrating and impersonal; the hotel confirms it is cashless. Room categories also differ substantially in size, so check what you book. We'd choose it for a practical sightseeing or business trip, but skip it for intimate surroundings and consistently personal service.

• Best for: sightseers comfortable using public transport; business and conference travelers; travelers who prioritize breakfast and room comfort

• Watch out for: self-service kiosk check-in; busy breakfast rooms and long corridors; substantial room-size differences

• Location: Near Tiergarten, with nearby buses and U-Bahn stations within walking distance.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds earn praise; entry-level categories can be compact, so compare room sizes.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and recent Expedia feedback.

• Service: Staff receive plenty of praise, but kiosk check-in draws recurring complaints.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, gym and sauna; breakfast is a particular highlight.

• Fees and surprises: Cashless property; parking, pets and breakfast may cost extra depending on your booking.
