#9 of 9 hotels in Schöneberg by Axel's take. Schöneberg is #9 of 12 places to stay in Berlin. The best hotels in Schöneberg, ranked · Where to stay in Berlin

Axel's take: 6.5/10

A practical budget base, but tired rooms and noise limit its appeal. a basic, aging 3-star in Schöneberg near the U-Bahn, scored for what it is.

Hotel Aldea Berlin Centrum is a basic, aging 3-star whose strongest argument is convenience: Bülowstraße U-Bahn is a short walk away, with cafés and restaurants nearby. We'd consider it for a short, budget-minded sightseeing trip rather than a relaxing hotel stay. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the breakfast, and many describe helpful staff and clean bedding.

The compromise is room condition. Reviews through 2026 repeatedly mention worn carpets, dated furniture and cramped bathrooms; cleanliness reports vary, with some guests finding spotless rooms and others reporting dirty carpets or mold. Noise from corridors, neighboring rooms and the street also recurs. The overall picture is mixed rather than uniformly bad, but we'd skip it if you're a light sleeper or want reliably fresh, well-maintained surroundings.

  • Best for: budget-minded city explorers; short stays using public transport

  • Watch out for: worn rooms and very small bathrooms; street and internal noise; uneven cleanliness reports

  • Location: Handy for Bülowstraße U-Bahn and nearby cafés; expect a busy urban setting.

  • Rooms: Basic and often dated, with recurring complaints about carpets, bathroom size and sound insulation.

  • Cleanliness: Many guests report clean beds and bathrooms, but dirty carpets and occasional mold complaints recur.

  • Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though some guests report unhelpful reception or problem handling.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, lifts, family rooms and a breakfast buffet; on-site parking is available.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast and parking cost extra unless included; early check-in and late checkout also carry charges.
