#8 of 9 hotels in Schöneberg by Axel's take. Schöneberg is #9 of 12 places to stay in Berlin. The best hotels in Schöneberg, ranked · Where to stay in Berlin

Axel's take: 7.1/10

Good transport links and fair value, but room quality is uneven. a no-frills city hotel opposite Bülowstraße U-Bahn, scored for what it is.

Garner Berlin–Schöneberg is a no-frills city hotel we'd consider for a short, budget-conscious Berlin break. Its strongest selling point is Bülowstraße U-Bahn opposite, with cafés, restaurants and Schöneberg nightlife nearby. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally find it good value, with plenty of praise for clean rooms and helpful staff. Larger premium rooms make it a more practical option for families, too.

Choose the room category carefully: IHG lists standard rooms starting at just 11 square metres. Recent Tripadvisor guests repeatedly mention heat without air conditioning, thin walls and tired bathrooms; Expedia reviews also show uneven room condition, while service feedback varies across sites. Breakfast can get crowded, and parking costs extra. We'd skip it if quiet nights, reliable summer cooling or consistently fresh interiors matter more than location.

  • Best for: budget-conscious city explorers; Schöneberg nightlife visitors; families booking larger premium rooms

  • Watch out for: smallest standard rooms are very compact; reported heat and noise; uneven bathroom condition

  • Location: Opposite Bülowstraße U-Bahn, with nearby food options and easy public-transport access.

  • Rooms: Sizes vary substantially; recent guests report compact standard rooms, noise and no air conditioning.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive overall, but recurring bathroom-maintenance complaints temper confidence.

  • Service: Many guests praise helpful staff, though recent feedback also includes unwelcoming service.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, snack shop and optional buffet breakfast; no pool or restaurant.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast, limited parking and dogs cost extra; verify the exact room size before booking.
