Axel's take: 7.9/10

A friendly Neukölln base that delivers the basics, not the polish. a simple, family-run 3-star in a Neukölln courtyard, scored for what it is.

Erlanger Hof is a simple, family-run 3-star tucked into a former factory courtyard in lively Neukölln. It's a good-value base if you want neighborhood restaurants and easy U-Bahn access rather than a sightseeing-center address. Expedia and Check24 guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and generous space, including family accommodation. The courtyard setting usually provides a welcome buffer from the surrounding streets.

The trade-off is polish: Tripadvisor guests describe tired corridors and uneven room condition, while reports of courtyard and corridor noise mean quiet isn't guaranteed. Breakfast earns both enthusiastic and lukewarm reviews, so treat it as a convenient extra rather than a reason to book. We'd choose it for a practical neighborhood stay; we'd skip it for sleek interiors or reliably silent nights.

• Best for: value-minded neighborhood explorers; families wanting practical room options; visitors with plans in Neukölln

• Watch out for: tired public areas; occasional courtyard and corridor noise; mixed breakfast feedback

• Location: Close to Rathaus Neukölln U-Bahn, shops and restaurants; not a central sightseeing address.

• Rooms: Often praised as spacious and functional, with kettles; condition and bed comfort vary.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive across booking sites, including recent reviews, despite occasional housekeeping criticisms.

• Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are the most consistent strength; reception is staffed around the clock.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, a lift, courtyard seating and optional buffet breakfast cover the basics.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and parking cost extra; guests describe an adjacent public garage, so confirm arrangements.
