Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong Berlin base for apartment space, helpful staff and easy transport. a comfortable 4-star apartment hotel near Berlin Hauptbahnhof, scored for what it is.

Adina Berlin Mitte is a comfortable 4-star apartment hotel that makes particular sense for families and longer stays. Studios have kitchenettes; larger apartments add separate living space and in-room laundry. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the generous rooms, helpful staff and cleanliness, backing up strong overall ratings. Hauptbahnhof is roughly ten minutes away on foot, with trams closer, and the indoor pool, sauna and gym are useful extras.

The trade-off is polish rather than practicality: some guests report stained carpets or tired furniture, although most describe comfortable, well-kept accommodation. Several find the pool chilly, and housekeeping is not necessarily daily. Breakfast and parking cost extra. We'd choose it for a self-catering city break, but skip it if immaculate interiors and daily hotel-style servicing matter more than space.

• Best for: families wanting room to spread out; longer self-catering stays; travelers arriving by train

• Watch out for: some worn furnishings and carpet stains; housekeeping may not be daily; pool water can feel chilly

• Location: About ten minutes' walk from Hauptbahnhof, with nearby tram and U-Bahn connections.

• Rooms: Generous studios and apartments; separate bedrooms and laundry make larger units particularly practical.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall guest scores, with occasional reports of stained carpets and missed cleaning details.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across recent reviews.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, sauna, gym, free Wi-Fi and Alto breakfast restaurant and bar.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and garage parking are extra; confirm the housekeeping schedule for your stay.
