#9 of 9 hotels in Hauptbahnhof & Moabit by Axel's take. Hauptbahnhof & Moabit is #10 of 12 places to stay in Berlin. The best hotels in Hauptbahnhof & Moabit, ranked · Where to stay in Berlin

Axel's take: 7.2/10

Good value near the station, provided you can tolerate noisy groups. a large budget hostel with private rooms near Berlin’s main station, scored for what it is.

This is a large budget hostel with dorm beds and private rooms, not a conventional hotel. Around ten minutes’ walk from Hauptbahnhof, it makes a practical base for rail arrivals and sightseeing on a budget. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally rate it good rather than outstanding, with location, value and helpful staff among its stronger points. We’d consider it for a short, inexpensive stay rather than a relaxing hotel break.

The biggest compromise is sleep: Tripadvisor and Hostelworld reviews repeatedly mention noisy school groups, corridor activity and slamming doors. Rooms are basic, and guests report uncomfortable summer heat without air conditioning. Cleanliness earns plenty of positive feedback, but complaints suggest standards are not entirely consistent. Breakfast and parking cost extra. We’d skip it if quiet nights or reliably cool rooms matter more than saving money.

Best for: budget travelers arriving by train; school and youth groups; short sightseeing stays
Watch out for: school-group and corridor noise; summer heat without air conditioning; uneven cleaning reports
Location: Roughly ten minutes on foot from Hauptbahnhof, convenient for onward transport.
Rooms: Basic dorms and private rooms; noise and summer heat are recurring drawbacks.
Cleanliness: Generally acceptable aggregate ratings, but some recent guests report missed cleaning.
Service: Helpful staff attract praise, though noise handling receives criticism.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, guest kitchen, bar, laundry facilities and 24-hour reception.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast and limited on-site parking cost extra; standard checkout is 10 a.m.
