Axel's take: 7.7/10

A central, friendly boutique stay, but not the strongest choice for quiet luxury. a five-star boutique hotel on MG Road with a lively nightlife scene, scored for what it is.

The Park is a five-star boutique hotel on MG Road whose strongest selling points are location and hospitality rather than grand luxury. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, comfortable beds and housekeeping; breakfast also earns frequent compliments. We'd consider it for a central city break with restaurants and nightlife close at hand.

The trade-offs matter at this level. Entry rooms are compact at roughly 22 square metres, although the hotel identifies Deluxe Premium rooms as renovated. Guest feedback still flags ageing areas, while recent reviews report late-night club noise. We'd request a renovated room away from entertainment venues—and skip it if spacious rooms, reliable silence and consistently polished five-star surroundings are priorities.

• Best for: couples planning a lively city break; travelers prioritizing MG Road; guests who value personable service

• Watch out for: late-night club noise; compact entry-level rooms; uneven condition across the property

• Location: MG Road is the standout advantage; Trinity metro station is about six minutes away on foot.

• Rooms: Standard Deluxe rooms are about 22 square metres with queen beds; Deluxe Premium rooms are advertised as renovated.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive on Booking.com and in recent Expedia reviews, though some other guests report lapses.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia feedback.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, spa, gym, restaurants and nightlife venues; the entertainment can compromise quiet.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is listed as complimentary; breakfast and airport transfers can cost extra, depending on the booking.
