Axel's take: 7.6/10

A practical Madiwala budget base, provided you choose the room carefully. a simple budget hotel on Hosur Road in Madiwala, scored for what it is.

The Grand Krishna Rooms is a simple budget hotel on Hosur Road, best chosen for Madiwala bus connections rather than polished interiors. We'd consider it for a short, practical stay: free parking is useful here, and guests across Booking.com, Hotels.com and MakeMyTrip praise the breakfast, helpful staff and clean rooms. Recent feedback is generally more encouraging than its weaker Tripadvisor history.

Room selection is the catch. The hotel explicitly sells non-AC Standard rooms, while several Tripadvisor guests describe disappointment with cooling, ventilation or the room category supplied. Confirm exactly what you are booking; Executive rooms advertise air-conditioning. The building shows its age, Wi-Fi gets weaker feedback, and Hotels.com lists no elevator. We'd skip it if you need dependable connectivity, step-free access or consistently modern rooms.

• Best for: budget travelers using Madiwala buses; short stays in south Bengaluru; drivers needing on-site parking

• Watch out for: Standard rooms have no air-conditioning; Wi-Fi reliability; No elevator listed

• Location: Hosur Road near Madiwala bus connections; practical for local transport rather than central sightseeing.

• Rooms: Older, straightforward rooms; Standard is non-AC, while Executive advertises air-conditioning.

• Cleanliness: Recent booking-site feedback is mostly positive, despite a weaker historical Tripadvisor record.

• Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though room-allocation complaints temper confidence.

• Amenities: Restaurant, breakfast options, free parking and Wi-Fi; Hotels.com lists no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms; laundry is chargeable.
