Axel's take: 7.7/10

A useful central base with generous rooms, but uneven upkeep limits its upscale appeal. an older upscale business hotel on central Residency Road, scored for what it is.

The Chancery Pavilion is an older upscale business hotel whose strongest assets are its Residency Road location, spacious rooms and food. It's a good pick for central Bengaluru business trips if practicality matters more than fresh interiors. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and breakfast, while the rooftop restaurant adds appeal beyond the usual business-hotel facilities.

The compromise is consistency: recent reviews describe dated bathrooms and fittings, occasional room odors and uneven maintenance, alongside plenty of clean, comfortable stays. One September 2026 Expedia guest reported renovation work on their floor with daytime drilling; confirm whether that work affects your room before booking. We'd skip it for a polished luxury break or a quiet daytime retreat, and request a nonsmoking room away from any works.

• Best for: central Bengaluru business trips; travelers prioritizing room space; city stays with dining on site

• Watch out for: dated rooms and uneven maintenance; occasional room or corridor odors; floor renovation and drilling reported in September 2026

• Location: Central Residency Road base, convenient for business, restaurants and shopping.

• Rooms: Generously sized, but aging bathrooms and fittings make room condition important.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive feedback, with some recent complaints about odors and bathroom cleaning.

• Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise; response times and execution are less consistent.

• Amenities: Dining, rooftop brewery, gym, spa and pool; breakfast is a recurring strength.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion varies; transfers and early or late departures cost extra. Confirm renovation status.
