#8 of 9 hotels in Majestic & Gandhinagar by Axel's take. Majestic & Gandhinagar is #4 of 11 places to stay in Bangalore. The best hotels in Majestic & Gandhinagar, ranked · Where to stay in Bangalore

Axel's take: 6.5/10

Handy for the markets, but too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. a basic 2-star budget hotel in Chickpet's market district, scored for what it is.

Hotel City Meridian is a basic 2-star hotel best considered for short, budget-minded trips to Chickpet's wholesale markets. Nearby metro access is useful, and Google guests overwhelmingly praise service and cleanliness. Some June–July 2025 reviews on ixigo also describe clean rooms and helpful staff. We'd consider it a practical sleeping base rather than somewhere to spend much downtime.

The catch is the sharply divided feedback: Google's 4.6/5 contrasts with Goibibo's 3.2/5 and Agoda's 5.3/10. Other guests report dirty bathrooms, stained linen and disappointing maintenance; Tripadvisor's April 2026 review adds a checkout-charge dispute. Confirm air-conditioning, parking and checkout terms before booking, and inspect the room on arrival. Elevator listings also conflict. We'd skip it for a comfort-focused family stay or if dependable housekeeping and step-free access are essential.

Best for: budget-conscious market shoppers; short business trips to Chickpet
Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and maintenance; parking and elevator uncertainty; confirm checkout and early-arrival charges
Location: Convenient for Chickpet markets and metro; vehicle access and parking draw complaints.
Rooms: Simple accommodation; non-AC rooms are sold, and some guests find photos overstate the finish.
Cleanliness: Strong Google praise conflicts with reports of dirty bathrooms and stained bedding elsewhere.
Service: Helpful staff earn praise, but reception courtesy and problem handling are inconsistent.
Amenities: Wi-Fi and room service are listed; Expedia says no elevator, while Goibibo lists one.
Fees and surprises: Confirm parking, breakfast inclusion and exact checkout terms; an April 2026 guest disputed an additional half-day charge.
