#2 of 9 hotels in Omonia & Metaxourgeio by Axel's take. Omonia & Metaxourgeio is #6 of 9 places to stay in Athens. The best hotels in Omonia & Metaxourgeio, ranked · Where to stay in Athens
Axel's take: 8.6/10
Strong service and rooftop views make Fresh a smart Athens base. a design-led 4-star city hotel near Athens’ Central Market, scored for what it is.
Fresh is a design-led 4-star city hotel that gets the important things right: cleanliness, helpful staff and a convenient base for exploring Athens. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the service and generous breakfast, while the rooftop bar and Acropolis views give it more character than a standard city hotel. The hotel’s restored neoclassical extension adds newer suites and distinctive public spaces.
The trade-offs are mostly about space and surroundings. Several recent guests describe compact rooms with limited storage, and the small rooftop pool is better for cooling off than spending a whole day lounging; it operates May–October. Some rooms attract noise complaints, and the market-side neighborhood feels gritty to some visitors despite its central location. We’d choose Fresh for an active city break, but skip it for spacious rooms, guaranteed quiet or a resort-style pool.
-

-

-
Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are among the most consistently praised features.
-
Amenities: Rooftop dining, outdoor pool open May–October, gym and sauna; not a resort-style pool setup.
