#6 of 9 hotels in Monastiraki & Psyri by Axel's take. Monastiraki & Psyri is #1 of 9 places to stay in Athens. The best hotels in Monastiraki & Psyri, ranked · Where to stay in Athens
Axel's take: 8.6/10
A strong budget base with helpful staff and Acropolis views, but imperfect soundproofing. a good-value 2-star city hotel in central Athens, scored for what it is.
Evripides is a central Athens 2-star that delivers well beyond the basics where it counts. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, welcoming staff and breakfast, while the seventh-floor breakfast room and rooftop deck bring Acropolis views without luxury-hotel expectations. We'd choose it for a sightseeing trip where location and good value matter more than extensive facilities. The hotel says its Superior rooms have been completely renovated, and recent guests generally describe modern, comfortable interiors.
The trade-offs are compact rooms, some small balconies and soundproofing that doesn't satisfy everyone: recent guests report both street noise and noise between rooms. The immediate streets also look scruffy, despite the convenient walk to Monastiraki and nearby restaurants. We'd skip it if you're a particularly light sleeper or want a polished neighborhood right outside the door.
-
