Axel's take: 7.4/10

A charming central base with a pool, but next-door nightlife compromises sleep. a small colonial-style 3-star near Antigua’s Central Park, scored for what it is.

Casa del Parque is a small colonial-style 3-star just off Antigua’s Central Park, best chosen for walkable sightseeing rather than peaceful nights. Its courtyard, outdoor pool and volcano views give it more character than a basic city hotel. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, helpful staff and the location. It’s a good pick for travelers who want to explore on foot and stay out late.

The substantial catch is El Barrio next door: music carrying into bedrooms until around midnight or later is a recurring complaint, including from otherwise enthusiastic guests. The hotel itself acknowledges surrounding noise. Rooms use fans rather than air-conditioning, and some guests find the beds firm. We’d skip it for light sleepers, early nights or anyone expecting polished, full-service comfort.

• Best for: sightseers exploring on foot; nightlife-friendly travelers; travelers wanting a small hotel with a pool

• Watch out for: El Barrio music until midnight or later; fan-cooled rooms without air-conditioning; firm beds reported by some guests

• Location: Steps from Central Park, with restaurants and major sights readily walkable.

• Rooms: Colonial character and some volcano views; fans, firm beds and intrusive nightlife noise are the trade-offs.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent reviews, despite occasional individual complaints.

• Service: Staff are usually praised; reconfirm reservation guarantees after several reported cancellation disputes.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, garden and Wi-Fi; the advertised restaurant partnership is with Restaurante del Arco nearby.

• Fees and surprises: Confirm parking arrangements and charges: published information conflicts; room visitors require reception approval.
