Axel's take: 5.1/10

A convenient central address, but too many compromises even for a budget stay. a basic budget guesthouse in central Alicante, scored for what it is.

Làtic Rooms is a basic budget guesthouse near Alicante’s Central Market, and the location is its strongest argument. Shops and restaurants are close, with Postiguet Beach roughly 15 minutes away on foot. Some guests find it adequate for a short stop, but Booking.com’s overall rating of around 5/10 makes this hard to recommend confidently. The hotel now advertises renovated Matrimonio New Concept rooms; check the exact category rather than assuming every room has been refreshed.

Booking.com and Agoda guests repeatedly describe cramped rooms, while noise, tired fittings and uneven cleanliness undermine the savings. Several recent reviews also mention unpleasant smells. The official site confirms self-check-in, not a continuously staffed reception, and guests report occasional access difficulties. We'd generally look elsewhere for a longer stay, and skip it if quiet, reliable comfort or easy stroller access matters.

Best for: short, location-first stays; budget travelers comfortable with self-check-in
Watch out for: small rooms and noise transfer; inconsistent cleanliness and unpleasant smells; stairs despite the listed lift
Location: Near Central Market; restaurants nearby and roughly 15 minutes’ walk to Postiguet Beach.
Rooms: Older rooms attract comfort complaints; renovated Matrimonio New Concept rooms are a separate category.
Cleanliness: Mixed reports, with recurring complaints about cleaning standards and odors.
Service: Officially offers 24-hour self-check-in; staff assistance is listed from 10:00 to 14:00.
Amenities: Air conditioning, private bathrooms, Wi-Fi and a lift are listed; guests report stairs along the access route.
Fees and surprises: Booking.com lists a refundable damage deposit; confirm arrival instructions and the precise room category.
