Axel's take: 5.5/10

Convenient for a stopover, but upkeep and cleanliness fall short even for the budget class. a basic 2-star airport-area hotel in Latham, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star hotel in Latham has practical advantages: easy highway access, nearby shopping, free parking and included breakfast. Albany Airport is roughly four miles away. Some guests find the rooms comfortable for the money, and friendly staff earn repeated praise. Still, Expedia and Booking.com ratings sit below six out of ten; we'd treat this as a fallback rather than a dependable budget pick.

The recurring problems are worn interiors, inconsistent cleaning and maintenance that goes beyond cosmetic aging. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests describe stained bedding and damaged fixtures, although others report clean, updated rooms. Renovation work was reported in March 2026, with its current status unclear. Travelocity lists neither a pool nor an airport shuttle, despite older descriptions. We'd skip it for a family getaway or an airport overnight requiring reliable transportation.

• Best for: budget motorists needing a brief stop; travelers prioritizing highway access

• Watch out for: uneven cleanliness and room condition; renovation status unclear; no pool or airport shuttle listed

• Location: Convenient to I-87 and Latham shopping; roughly four miles from Albany Airport, not a downtown base.

• Rooms: Some updated rooms receive praise, but recent guests also report worn furnishings and broken fixtures.

• Cleanliness: Inconsistent: clean-room reports coexist with repeated complaints about stained bedding, grime and odors.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a relative strength, though communication receives some criticism.

• Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking are included; a restaurant and gym are listed, but Travelocity lists no pool or airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Pet fees and deposits apply; pets require designated rooms. Confirm renovation status before booking.
