Axel's take: 7.0/10

Airport convenience and helpful staff, but worn rooms make this a qualified pick. a 3-star airport hotel with a free terminal shuttle, scored for what it is.

This 3-star airport hotel makes most sense for a short overnight before an early flight. The free terminal shuttle is the main draw, and Expedia guests repeatedly praise its efficiency and the helpful staff. An on-site restaurant, indoor pool and gym cover the expected mid-range basics. We'd consider it for airport convenience rather than a hotel-centered break.

The catch is inconsistent upkeep. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews describe worn carpets, dated rooms and maintenance faults; cleanliness reports range from spotless to clearly inadequate. Expedia's overall feedback is considerably warmer than Tripadvisor's recent reviews, so this isn't a uniformly poor property, but room condition is a genuine gamble. Breakfast costs extra, and extended airport parking carries a charge. We'd skip it if fresh interiors and reliably polished housekeeping matter most.

• Best for: early-morning flyers; short airport stopovers

• Watch out for: worn rooms and inconsistent housekeeping; recurring maintenance complaints; paid breakfast and extended parking

• Location: Very convenient for Albany International Airport; less suited to a downtown-focused visit.

• Rooms: Comfort earns praise, but dated furnishings, worn carpets and bathroom maintenance recur in reviews.

• Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recent complaints show uneven housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly staff and efficient shuttle drivers are recurring strengths; problem resolution is less consistent.

• Amenities: Hilton lists an indoor pool, fitness center, restaurant and complimentary airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Ordinary self-parking is complimentary; extended parking, breakfast and pets carry charges.
