#2 of 3 hotels in Glenmont by Axel's take. Glenmont is #6 of 8 places to stay in Albany. The best hotels in Glenmont, ranked · Where to stay in Albany

Axel's take: 7.3/10

A practical Albany stopover, but renovations and uneven upkeep warrant caution. A basic 2-star roadside hotel south of downtown Albany, scored for what it is.

This basic roadside Comfort Inn is a reasonable pick for drivers who want easy Albany access without staying downtown. Free parking and hot breakfast make it useful for a short, budget-minded stay. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and accommodating staff, while some Trip.com guests like the refreshed rooms and comfortable beds. We'd consider it for an overnight stop rather than a hotel-centered getaway.

The catch is consistency: other guests report bathroom-cleaning misses, worn rooms and hallway noise. Renovations were still mentioned in an October 2026 review. Expedia's scheduled indoor-pool renovation ended September 27, 2026, but that does not confirm reopening; hot-tub outages also recur in guest feedback. Ask for a renovated room and confirm pool and hot-tub availability directly. We'd skip it if quiet surroundings or dependable swimming facilities are essential.

  • Best for: Drivers making a short Albany stop; Budget-minded business travelers; Visitors who prioritize breakfast and parking

  • Watch out for: Renovations reported into October 2026; Uneven housekeeping and room condition; Confirm pool and hot-tub operation

  • Location: About three miles south of downtown Albany; better suited to driving than downtown sightseeing on foot.

  • Rooms: Some refreshed rooms earn praise; older-room wear and hallway noise remain concerns.

  • Cleanliness: Recent Expedia feedback is mostly positive, but bathroom and linen complaints elsewhere show inconsistency.

  • Service: Helpful, accommodating front-desk staff are a recurring strength.

  • Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking and a gym; indoor pool advertised, but verify aquatic facilities.

  • Fees and surprises: Renovation disruption remains possible; pets are not accepted, apart from service animals.
