Around Atlantic Avenue and 17th–24th streets, beach days lead naturally into Boardwalk walks, dinner and nightlife. Head inland along 19th Street for the ViBe’s cafés and creative businesses; Atlantic Park adds its surf lagoon and The Dome concert venue to the mix. This is the easiest choice for a first visit focused on doing things rather than driving between them.
The trade-off is intensity: summer crowds, busy crossings and late-night activity around the entertainment blocks. Recent visitor discussions distinguish these lower-numbered streets from the quieter northern Oceanfront. Choose it for convenience and sociability; skip it if peaceful evenings matter more than walking home from a show.
