A strong downtown choice for space and kitchens, but some suites need refreshing. An upscale downtown apartment hotel with Sutton Place services, scored for what it is.

La Grande Residence is an upscale apartment hotel: one- and two-bedroom suites with full kitchens, separate living areas and balconies, backed by Sutton Place services. It's a strong pick for families and longer stays that value space over fashionable interiors. Booking.com and Expedia ratings are consistently strong, with cleanliness, helpful staff and the walkable downtown location doing much of the work.

The main compromise is condition: recent guests repeatedly describe worn or dated suites, although the hotel identifies its top-floor Premium suites as newly renovated. Parking adds a substantial extra charge. More importantly, the indoor pool is currently closed for renovations that began October 13, 2026, with reopening anticipated December 1, 2026. We'd skip it during that closure if swimming is central to the trip, or choose elsewhere if uniformly fresh luxury finishes matter more than apartment-style practicality.
