Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong Burnaby base with friendly service, comfortable beds and free parking. a practical, motel-style 3-star in Burnaby, scored for what it is.

Accent Inns Burnaby is a motel-style 3-star that gets the important things right. We'd pick it for a practical Vancouver-area stay, especially with a car or a pet. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and genuinely helpful staff; Booking.com and Tripadvisor reinforce that picture. Free parking, kitchenette options and an on-site burger restaurant make it useful rather than fancy.

The compromise is location and atmosphere: this isn't downtown Vancouver, and exterior room entrances give it a motor-inn feel. Gilmore SkyTrain is about an eight-minute walk away, so sightseeing involves some commuting. Some review sources flag road noise, although many recent guests describe quiet stays. We'd skip it for a polished city-center experience; for straightforward comfort and welcoming service, it's a strong pick.

• Best for: drivers exploring Greater Vancouver; travelers with pets; families wanting kitchenette options

• Watch out for: commute to downtown Vancouver; exterior room entrances; possible road noise

• Location: About eight minutes on foot to Gilmore SkyTrain; practical for regional trips rather than downtown doorstep sightseeing.

• Rooms: Simple, comfortable accommodation with mini-fridges; kitchenettes and larger suites are available.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are one of the clearest recurring positives.

• Amenities: Free parking and Wi-Fi, fitness room, hot tub, free bike rentals and Bin 4 Burger Lounge.

• Fees and surprises: Pets incur a fee and need designated rooms; a November 2026 ownership transition is planned, with normal operations promised.
