Axel's take: 6.4/10

Useful for a budget stop, but room quality remains too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. a basic 2-star roadside motel off I-10, scored for what it is.

This is a basic 2-star roadside motel in Metairie, best considered for a short, car-based stay rather than a New Orleans vacation centerpiece. Free parking, in-room microwaves and refrigerators make it practical. Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, and several 2026 visitors describe clean, comfortable rooms. Choice calls the property newly remodeled, but the guest feedback suggests the results are uneven.

The main compromise is consistency: alongside satisfied guests, reviews describe musty rooms, stained bedding and bathroom maintenance problems. Breakfast repeatedly disappoints, and noise can carry between rooms. Don't choose it for the pool: early-2026 guests reported it unusable, and Choice doesn't advertise it. Renovation noise was also reported in February 2026; whether work continues is unconfirmed. We'd consider it for a functional overnight, but skip it if reliable housekeeping, quiet or a substantial breakfast matters most.

• Best for: budget travelers with a car; short overnight stops

• Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and maintenance; limited breakfast; pool availability unconfirmed

• Location: Convenient highway access in Metairie; better suited to driving than exploring central New Orleans on foot.

• Rooms: Remodeled rooms have microwaves and refrigerators, but bathroom defects, mustiness and noise still appear in reviews.

• Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recurring bedding and bathroom complaints make standards inconsistent.

• Service: Helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength, though service feedback is not uniformly positive.

• Amenities: Free parking, Wi-Fi and continental breakfast; laundry facilities and no elevator are listed by booking sites.

• Fees and surprises: Pets incur a fee and have size limits; confirm deposit terms, pool availability and whether renovation work remains.
