Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong downtown base for arena nights, with street noise the main catch. a modern 3-star downtown hotel opposite Gainbridge Fieldhouse, scored for what it is.

This modern 3-star is a strong pick for games, concerts and downtown weekends, especially if you want to park once and walk. Gainbridge Fieldhouse is directly opposite, with restaurants and the convention center nearby. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and welcoming staff. Free breakfast, an indoor pool and a well-equipped gym make it a well-rounded choice for its class.

The trade-off is the lively setting: recent guests repeatedly describe late-night traffic and post-event noise, particularly in arena-facing rooms. Request a room away from the fieldhouse, though quiet isn't guaranteed. Parking costs extra, and nearby Circle Centre Mall redevelopment adds construction and access changes. We'd choose it for convenience rather than seclusion; light sleepers should consider somewhere less central.

• Best for: basketball and concert visitors; families on downtown weekends; convention travelers happy to walk

• Watch out for: late-night street and arena noise; paid parking; nearby Circle Centre Mall construction

• Location: Opposite Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with downtown dining and the convention center within walking distance.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable; many have sofa-sleepers, but street-facing rooms can be noisy.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Expedia and Tripadvisor, rather than a recurring cleanliness concern.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff dominate recent feedback, despite occasional complaints about problem handling.

• Amenities: Free breakfast, heated indoor pool, 24-hour gym, and Pivot Bar & Balcony.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking and valet cost extra; pet fees apply, and nearby redevelopment can affect access.
