Axel's take: 6.3/10

A handy South Beach base, but room standards are too uneven for an easy recommendation. a budget apartment-style hotel in central South Beach, scored for what it is.

Miami International by Lowkl is a budget apartment-style hotel whose strongest selling point is its Collins Avenue location, a short walk from the beach, restaurants and nightlife. We'd consider it for a short, location-first stay: studios have fridges and microwaves, selected units have full kitchens, and many Expedia guests praise helpful staff and good value. Booking.com’s more modest overall feedback makes this a qualified pick, not a dependable bargain.

The trade-off is inconsistent upkeep. Recent reviews across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor repeatedly describe damp or musty rooms, uneven cleaning and tired finishes, despite Expedia listing a 2024 renovation. Noise also comes up, and check-in relies on advance registration and access codes outside staffed hours. Elevator information conflicts, with an October 2026 guest reporting it unusable. We'd skip it for quiet nights, reliable accessibility or consistently polished rooms.

• Best for: budget-minded beachgoers; short, location-first stays; travelers wanting basic self-catering

• Watch out for: uneven cleaning and musty rooms; hallway and nightlife noise; confirm elevator access before booking

• Location: Central Collins Avenue setting, walkable to the beach, Ocean Drive, dining and nightlife.

• Rooms: Private studios range from compact rooms with basic appliances to larger kitchen-equipped units; condition varies.

• Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recurring recent complaints mention damp smells and inadequate cleaning.

• Service: Helpful staff receive praise, but communication and problem handling draw mixed feedback; onsite hours are 10 am–6 pm.

• Amenities: LOWKL advertises beach chairs, towels, Wi-Fi, luggage storage and an onsite Cuban restaurant; elevator availability needs confirmation.

• Fees and surprises: Complete online registration before arrival; parking nearby costs extra, and housekeeping schedules differ between official and booking listings.
