Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong family base, especially in a two-bedroom suite, with fees and noise to weigh. A mid-range, condo-style vacation resort near Orlando’s theme parks, scored for what it is.

Grande Villas is a mid-range, condo-style vacation resort rather than a conventional hotel, and it’s a strong pick for families mixing theme-park days with pool time. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, helpful staff and comfortable accommodations. The two-bedroom suites are the standout for space and self-catering; two pools, hot tubs, mini-golf and a poolside deli make days off from the parks worthwhile too.

Choose the room category carefully: one-bedroom suites have notably smaller living areas and less kitchen space. Reviews also repeatedly mention sound carrying between units or from the pools, so light sleepers should request a top-floor room away from the action. Hilton confirms a daily resort charge and paid parking, while guests report timeshare invitations. We’d skip it for a quiet couples’ retreat, but it delivers very well as a practical family base.

• Best for: Families wanting two-bedroom suites; Self-catering theme-park trips; Travelers mixing park days with pool days

• Watch out for: Daily resort charge and paid parking; Noise between units and around pools; Smaller one-bedroom layouts and timeshare invitations

• Location: Convenient for Disney and Universal by car or rideshare, rather than on foot.

• Rooms: Two-bedroom suites earn strong praise; one-bedroom living and kitchen areas are considerably smaller.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent reviews on Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia.

• Service: Helpful, friendly staff receive broad praise; expect possible timeshare invitations.

• Amenities: Two pools, hot tubs, mini-golf, a gym, playground and casual poolside dining.

• Fees and surprises: Hilton lists a daily resort charge, separate parking charges and a 10 a.m. checkout.
